Britain would surrender control of taxes, the economy and welfare if we scrap the Pound, France's finance chief confirmed yesterday.
Laurent Fabius made it clear the Euro can only work if member states share tax rates and economic and social policy.
Shadow Chancellor Michael Howard said: "The Euro has precious little to do with economic. It is political project."
