Whilst Labour's 15.5% Council Tax hike bills have started landing on residents door mats, further evidence of Labour waste and mismanagement is brought to the front page of the Evening Advertiser.
In the latter days of Labour control in Swindon Borough Council, the Labour group chose to spend £125 000 on laptops for Councillors. This decision outraged residents who questioned the need to spend so much, especially whilst Council Tax bills were going through the roof. To make matters worse, Councillors were never asked if they wished to have one, with many laptops (including mine) still unclaimed. This Labour disaster has now got worse, with the local paper highlighting that despite an average of £3000 being spent on each laptop, many aren't even working properly!
One of the initial plans for the laptops was that they would be used to send Council agendas etc, which would save on postage. However, despite some Councillors now using laptops, no agendas have been sent, what a waste!
This whole situation is a disgrace, and shows how we need to end Labours waste and mismanagement in Swindon.
