Transport, Environment & Neighbourhood Services Commission
Tuesday, 8th October 2002 - 7.00pm
(Civic Offices - Swindon Borough Council)
Following the advertised plans to close Lady Lane, the Council has received four objections, which will be considered at the 'TENs' meeting.
Objections were recieved from:
1 Cross Country Coaches
2 Haydon Wick Parish Council
3 Blunsdon Parish Council
4 Mr A M Wilson
The Council Officers urges Councillors to still close Lady Lane despite these four objections.
Councillor Justin Tomlinson & Councillor Peter Stoddart are part of the 'TENs' committee and will be supporting the closure of Lady Lane despite the four objections.
The Ash Brake residents are in favour of seeing Lady Lane closed, with 350+ signatures collected from the 350 houses. We have supported this campaign from the beginning, and as Lady Lane was due to close in 2000. These objections should not cause any further delays, Ash Brake should not have to wait any longer.
Lady Lane Campaign Group / Ash Brake Residents, Chairman Jon Booth, is also adament that the Council should listen to the Ash Brake residents, and close Lady Lane.
