Swindon Link Picture From The Opening Of North Swindon Library
Cllr Justin Tomlinson who is the Lead Member for Cultural Services and Recreation, which cover libraries is delighted at the first months visitor numbers for the new North Swindon library.
"The North Swindon library is an exciting addition to the provision of facilities for the residents of North Swindon. The North Swindon library not only offers the traditional core library services, but also: cd's, dvd's, and comprehensive free IT access the potential for the North Swindon library to become a flagship library is huge. The visitor figures for the first month have already shown local residents are keen to use the new service, and the new Sunday opening (12 - 4pm) has proved the most popular day for users. North Swindon library is the first in Swindon to open on Sunday's, a step which the Council promised to monitor closely. If the current trends continue, this is something we could be looking to extend."
