Swindon Borough Council is actively seeking to improve communication with residents, with a variety of plans being brought forward to the Councillors for discussion and implementation.
At the recent Cabinet meeting, Cllr Justin Tomlinson asked for all the Council press releases to be added to the Swindon Council website.
"The Swindon Council website is promoted through all of the Council's activities, so it struck me as as common sense to put our latest press releases / news on the front page of the Council website. This would also cost us no additional money as we already have the site, and we already write the press releases so it is just a question of copy and paste. I think it is crucial as a Council we do all we can to effectively communicate with the residents, who pay Council Tax and use our services, and this is certainly a step in the right direction"
This suggestion was widely supported, and has been implemented immediately.
