Following the announcement from the Education Partnership Board to delay the new secondary school being built in North Swindon, your Abbey Meads Conservative Councillors have looking at ways to press for urgent action on this issue.
We believe that the Northern Sector does require at new Secondary School at the earliest opportunity. Delay's have been caused by the numbers of children in the potential catchment area being far less than initially anticipated. We will though press for a phased opening, allowing at least part of the school to be open at the earliest opportunity, with the remainder of the school coming online as the numbers of children increase.
