The long drawn out battle with the developers who planned to build a McDonalds adjacent to housing in Ash Brake has recieved a further boost.
Following intense pressure from the local Conservative Councillors and local residents, plans to allow McDonalds favourable trading times were thrown out of the Council. This effectively prevented McDonalds opening before 10am, thus limiting their breakfast trading, making the whole development less finacially appealing to McDonalds.
The developers had 6 months to appeal against this decision, and the 6 months has now passed, hopefully bringing a close to this issue.
We will continue to press for a change of land use, which would allow housing to be built on the land, which would be more in keeping with the local area than takeaway food outlets.
