Abbey Meads Conservative Councillor's, Justin Tomlinson, Peter Stoddart and Owen Lister are to step up the campaign to help local residents tackle development issues in the new areas of the Abbey Meads ward.
When you buy your new home, the Developer expects you to pay in full, and on time. It is therefore reasonable for you to expect all the work to be completed in full, and on time.
Since we were all first elected in May 2000, 90% of the local issues that we have dealt with have been related to development issues such as:
Condition of roads and pavements.
Overgrowth or dead plantations.
Discarded building materials.
Unworking street lights.
Planning Issues.
Litter.
Until an area is adopted by the Council, as Councillors we are not directly able to tackle these issues. Residents often contact Developers directly to tackle the problems, but too often find no action is taken.
As Councillors we are able to bring togther the Council Development Officers, and the Developers, helping speed up action. Where a problem persists, we are able to request that the Developers visit the area personally, and a suitable action plan is agreed.
Throughout the ward we have been very successful in tackling these issues.
If you have any outstanding issues, please do not hesitate to contact us:
