Yesterday The Mayor joined the tree-planting event at Shaw Forest.

The Mayor, Councillor Stoddart (Conservative Abbey Meads), who supports conservation of the forest and planted an ash tree, said: "I welcome it because it is reclaiming land and it is another place which people can use for recreation.  I realise it is important to have places like this on our doorstep."
