Recycling plastic bottles has proved so popular at the Swindon Household Waste Recycling Centre at Waterside Park, the Cheney Manor Industrial Estate, that six more recycling centres are being opened in the area.
Subject to approval from the site owners, it is hoped that the recycling facilities will be available in Wroughton, Highworth, Bridgemead, Stratton, Ocotal Way and the Haydon Centre.
The scheme has been given the thumbs up by lead member for Swindon Services, Councillor Justin Tomlinson.
He said: "Year on year we are improving our recycling, this is an issue we take very seriously."
