Disaster!!!
There has been a planning application for a KFC and Auto Centre
on the vacant land by Ash Brake!!!
After an exhaustive campaign in 2002, local residents joined myself (Cllr Justin Tomlinson), Cllr Owen Lister and Cllr Peter Stoddart in objecting to the planning application for McDonalds at Ash Brake. Our campaign was ultimately successful, as whilst we could not object to their application, we were able to put on constraints for early opening times, ruling out breakfast trade. Unlike the previous application, KFC will not be relying on breakfast trade, so this constraint has not put them off applying.
Myself (Cllr Justin Tomlinson), Cllr Owen Lister & Cllr Peter Stoddart will object to this application.
Haydon Wick Parish Council have initially objected, though will reconsider their position if their concerns are addressed by 'conditions'.
Blunsdon Parish Council have also been asked to give feedback.
With any planning application, you are prevented by law from objecting for simply not liking a scheme. An application can only be rejected for reasons that would stand up in court. (This is why the McDonalds application was successful, with the exception of the opening times)
