Roman Ruins Site During A 'Time Team' Visit

Local residents have recently asked me to look into the general maintaince of Groundwell West and the Roman Ruins site.

The landscape works for public open space at Groundwell West (south of Motorola) will be implemented this year, the play areas constructed late summer/autumn and adopted by Swindon Services immediately, the planting to follow on through the winter period and adopted after a further year's maintenance by the implementing contractor.

The Roman Villa site will be adopted for maintenance this winter. At present we have an agreement for Swindon Services to afford the grass twice a year, further cuts ( as required for instance by archaeologists for events on site) and landscape works are paid for by our  as part of our budgets derived from developers contributions. After this winter the regular maintenance will be the sole responsibility of Swindon Services. They are aware that the first cut under the current arrangement is needed now.
