I take the view that both plant and animal life has evolved over possibly millions of years and that in that process animals (including the human animal) have developed metabolisms for existence on plant and animal food sources. If we now artificially alter the genetic makeup of food sources can we be certain that our metabolism may not be adversly affected or do we really wish to take part in an experimental feeding routine, the effects of which may not be apparent for many years or even for generations. I take the view, better the devil you know than the devil you don't, because on a physiological and biochemical basis we do not know the effects (if any) of GM food crops on human beings.
