As the Lead Member for Leisure, Culture & Recreation I try to spend time meeting local representatives in all these areas across Swindon. With my Culture / Arts hat on, I met with local artist David Bent.
Aside from discussing his excellent work, we discussed ways to involve the local community, especially the youth of Swindon, and the future plans for a new Swindon Art Gallery. Clearly there is a need to work with talented local people such as David whose expertise and experience will help Swindon Council improve our culture standing.
