31/10/06 - Cllr Tomlinson, Public Meeting & Petition - Junction 6A

(Map kindly reproduced from The Link magazine)

Following coverage of the potential closure of Junction 6A, I have been in contact with a number of residents who have made their thoughts crystal clear, with every single one being opposed.

Therefore, I will be organised a public meeting on Monday 4th December 2006, 7pm, for which local residents will have the opportunity to speak to developers and officers from the highways department. This meeting will be held at Bridlewood Primary School.

I have requested that nothing will happen to at least after our public meeting, allowing time for the views of local residents to be collected, and discussions to be had at the public meeting.

In the mean time, I will be organising a petition for local residents to sign, opposing the closure of junction 6a, this will be distributed shortly.

I will keep you all informed as soon as I have any developments, and I would like to thank the local residents for their pro-active response to this news. Throughout my time as the local ward Councillor, by working with local residents we have been able to influence a number of issues, and whilst I can't make any promises on this, we will (as ever) give it everything we have!

Please do encourage local residents to e-mail me with their support for this campaign. justin@abbeymeadsintouch.com
