Abbey Meads ward Cllr's Justin Tomlinson, Peter Stoddart and Owen Lister attended a meeting called by the Labour MP to look at a potential youth facility at a future redeveloped Abbey Stadium.
The meeting was also attended by representives of Blunsdon Parish Council, Swindon Borough Council youth service and 4 local children.
The meeting organised by the MP was an opportunity for young people to express their views on a potential youth facility, for which those present were keen. They have now been tasked with working up potential ideas, and discussing the matter further with local children.
The owners of the Abbey Stadium are currently working on plans for the redevelopment of the stadium and the land adjacent, with plans expected to come forward in the next few months. We will make sure all local residents are informed of future progress.
