Labour Party Membership At An All Time Low - Wonder Why?
The local Labour Party have hit an all-time new low.
A recent leaflet asking, 'Can you name your 3 Councillors' is yet another example of their personal, nasty campaign. The Labour candidate last year fought the Haydon Wick ward, where his personal negative onslaught back fired and saw the Conservative Councillor David Renard re-elected with an increased majority.
We are extremely proud of our record of representing the Abbey Meads ward, and this has reflected well in the annual elections, with a staggering 71% voting for Cllr Justin Tomlinson last year.
We have contacted the Labour MP (yet again!) to urge him to get his rabble under control.
It is very sad that the Labour Party in Swindon are so devoid of positive issues to present to local residents that they have to stoop to the very depth of gutter politics.
We will continue to put local residents first, all year round, and not just at election time.
