The fast food chain has applied to Swindon Council for permission to build a Drive Thru' restaurant at the Orbital Retail Park, Thames-down Drive. The application is for the erection of the facility, including access, along with car parking and landscaping.

In previous years McDonalds (and KFC) both applied for planning permission on land adjacent to the residential housing atAshbrake. We fought extremely successful and high profile campaigns to block the planning permissiondue tothe traffic and parking impact on the residential area. At the time we argued that the Northern Orbital shopping centre would be the right location as this is a retail park designedwiththe correctparking / traffic infrastructure,and therefore we welcome this proposal.
