Abbey Meads Ward – Swindon Borough Council Election Result

Vera Tomlinson, Conservative – 1836 (76%)

Gerald Lawson, Labour  - 266 (11%)

Richard Law, Lib Dem  - 226 (9.4%)

Robin Tingey, UKIP  - 90 (3.7%)

Thank you to everyone who voted for Vera Tomlinson, this our best ever result in the Abbey Meads ward with a staggering majority of 1570 votes and 76% of the vote.

Labour’s typical nasty and negative campaigning has once again been overwhelmingly rejected.  It is only the Conservatives who put forward a positive agenda and work all year round to put our local area first.

Labour – 12 Councillors

Conservative - 23189 votes, (54.53%)
Labour – 10434 votes, (24.54%)
Lib Dem – 6519 votes, (15.33%)
UKIP – 2301 votes, (5.41)
O/Ind – 181 votes, (0.43%)

There was a swing of 5.42% from Labour to the Conservatives.  This is the best ever result for the Conservatives and worst ever for Labour.
