02/07/08 - Ash Meadow Park, Eastbury Way - Outstanding Issues

3 issues have been reported regarding Ash Meadow Park at the rear of Eastbury Way:

1. This morning I found a handle which has come off the top of the climbing frame/slide therefore the equipment is defective and possibly unsafe (although a child wouldn't know this until they'd reached the top)

2. Some graffiti has appeared there this weekend too - again at the top of the climbing frame/slide

3. The lights don't work at night. Some time ago a trench was dug to connect 1 light up to the others and all of them were working. A contractor then arrived a couple of months ago and they resurfaced it with tarmac but since then NONE of the lights on the park work when it's dark.

In response - the parks maintenance team will deal with the first 2 issues urgently.  The North Swindon Development Company (who represent the developers) will be dealing with final issue, as lighting is their responsibility.
