Cllr Tomlinson At The Site Of The Future Priory Vale Pub
Plans for the new Priory Vale pub, operated by Marstons have been withdrawn.
It is believed this is due to the downturn in economic conditions, caused by our hopeless Labour Government.
The developers though remain confident that an alternative operator will quickly step into position.
I have been working extremely hard with the Swindon Link magazine to deliver this much needed facility through public meetings and meetings with the developers.
Bizarrely this announcement came a few days beforen the Labour MP tried to claim credit for delivering the pub - could he be any more of touch?!! This has infuriated a number of local residents who contacted us for clarification, exposing again just why Labour were so overwhemingly hammered in the local elections.
Cllr Justin Tomlinson, "It is extremely disappointing that Marstons have stepped aside. However despite the economic uncertainty I believe this is still an extremely attractive site, with a large catchment area ideal to alternative operators. I believe at the time Marstons snapped up the site, there were at least 2 other operators vying for the site, so fingers crossed this is only a temporary blip. As ever, I will be doing all I can to help push this for fellow local residents as this is a much needed local facility."
