The proposed Oakhurst Primary School (PS7) was granted planning permission at the Planning Committee last night, supported by all Councillors. The only objection came from Haydon Wick Parish Council who had concerns about traffic management.
As a member of the Planning Committee Cllr Vera Tomlinson made a passionate speech in favour, highlighting the need for the school and the support of both local residents and the officers who had recommended the scheme was granted permission.
Cllr Vera Tomlinson, "I was delighted this was passed at the Planning Committee. We have worked extremely hard with local residents with local residents to deliver this much needed school."
