We were delighted to attend the official opening of the new M&S store at the Northern Oribital today. There was huge excitement, with queues extending beyond the Homebase store as residents waited to get a first glimpse of the new store.
The store is open from 9:00am to 8:30pm throughout the week, and closes at 7pm Saturday and 4:30pm; on Sunday inline with the other stores at the Northern Orbital.
In addition to the traditional M&S offering there is a substantial food hall and a cafe.
Cllr Justin Tomlinson, "We are extremely proud to see the M&S store open at the Northern Orbital. When it initially applied for planning permission it faced huge concerns about the potential impact on the town centre, however we argued that this was exactly the sort of new facility our residents would welcome. A compromise was agreed that saw the town centre site redevelopment prior to the opening of this store.''
Cllr Vera Tomlinson, "As a local resident myself, I will using this new store all the time - it is a fantastic addition to the Northern Orbital. The addition of a food hall will certainly prove very popular.''
