17/08/09 - Hayburn Road Update

Planning - The initial planning application which caused great concerns for local residents, in particular the design and size of the building has been withdrawn following our pressure.  Our feedback has been given to the developers who will resubmit revised plans in a few weeks.

For further information on the initial application please see: http://www.abbeymeadsintouch.com/news/658/

Outstanding Bovis Homes Issues - Further to a site visit with myself, a local resident (Wayne) and Bovis Homes as: http://www.abbeymeadsintouch.com/news/644/

There were still many outstanding issues.  We therefore reported this to the Enforcement Officer at Swindon Council who has contacted the Bovis Head Office directly.  Bovis swiftly responded and Mr Neale of Bovis has asked for two weeks in which to clear the site at the top end, next to the compound, and then he would arrange a site meeting with the Enforcement Officer.

Cllr Justin Tomlinson, "I will continue to work with local residents and the Enforcement team to make sure Bovis Homes deal with all the outstanding issues.  Local residents have paid a premium for their homes and they should not have to keep chasing Bovis."
