Three major issues have been raised by residents in White Eagle Road:
Firstly, there is a large pile of debris (e.g broken tarmac, bricks, rubble etc) left by the contractors. As it has been a few weeks since work was completed and the contractors left, there seems little sign of this being removed.
Bloor Homes have confirmed that this debris will be removed this week.
Secondly, the 6 or so new bollards as part of the junction have been left unsecured in their posts. Kids have now got into the habit of removing them and throwing them in the main road (stupid or what?). Local residents keep picking them up and putting them back in their stands. Clearly, there could be an accident if a car hit one. It seems that they are designed to be secured with a padlock.
Bloor Homes have confirmed they will bolt these bollards down this week.
Finally, the old problem of lighting. Street light no 13 on Haydon end land still does not work (after a year of trying to get it operating) and all the ones down from it along the foot path/bridle way (5 or more along that path) still do not work. Is there any possibility, especially with the nights getting longer, that these lights could be connected?
Both Swindon Council and NSDC are chasing Southern Electric Contractors to undertake the electric connections that will energise these columns.
Cllr Justin Tomlinson, "Swindon Council and NSDC have acted quickly to deal with these outstanding issues, much to the relief of local residents.''
