Council Tax for 2010/11 will rise by only 1.8%, again below the level of inflation. This is in stark contrast to when Labour ran the Council and we saw Council Tax rocket by a disgraceful wallet busting 42% in just 3 years.
This is the lowest increase in Council Tax in over 10 years and as expected was opposed by the Labour Councillors who wrongly believe 'local residents want to pay more'. No wonder Labour have seen nearly all their Councillors kicked out of office over recent elections.
It is only the Conservatives who will continue to improve the efficiency of the Council, cutting waste to free up additional money for improved services and facilities, whilst also keeping Council Tax fair and affordable.
