£700,000 TO SPEND IN THE NORTHERN SECTOR – HAVE YOUR SAY!
This is your chance to suggest how to spend nearly three-quarters-of-a-million pounds on community projects in our area.
Cllr Vera Tomlinson has successfully won the battle to get a better share of the ‘Haydon 3 Section 106’ money for the Northern Development Area.Â
The money has come from the contributions paid by developers when they built the northern sector’s new houses – most of which are in Abbey Meads.Â
After allocating money to highways and new school places, our remaining share originally amounted to just £100,000, of which £70,000 had already been spent!  But we now have a massive £700,000 to be spent by the community for improvements in the ‘Haydon 3’ development area.Â
We are asking you to think about what you would like this money to be spent on.  Suggestions so far include (tick if you agree):
------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Community Building in Redhouse Village Centre                                      Â
For use by Scouts, church groups, residents’ groups, Butterflies
children’s day care, youth groups, community or sports events, etc….      ------------  Â
Â
Security Lighting for Bergman Close play area
To combat anti-social behaviour                                                                         ------------
Â
Purchase of grit bins
For use on pavements and residential roads during icy weather                 ------------
